Pelletized organic fertilizer provides an eco-friendly way to enrich soil with a slow, consistent release of vital nutrients. One of our customers produces pelletized organic fertilizer from biosolids—nutrient-rich organic material recycled from wastewater treatment. These biosolids are carefully processed into dry, uniform pellets for easy storage, transport, and application. This sustainable approach not only supports healthy crop growth but also helps close the waste loop, turning a byproduct into a valuable resource.

The customer was using a failing maintenance gate from one of our competitors to handle their pellets, which caused inefficiencies and downtime. They reached out to us for a better solution. Our Vortex representative, Ball Sales, and our application engineers worked closely with the customer to identify their needs and recommend a 316 stainless steel Rollergate with handcrank actuation. Additionally, we provided a 316L stainless steel round-to-square flanged inlet transition and a 316L stainless steel square-to-round flanged outlet transition stub with a sock bead for a flexible boot connection.

• (HT3) - Valve is rated for 250˚F(122˚C) maximum continuous service. PET side seals and upper and lower bonnet seals are live loaded and silicone rubber backed. Valve also includes cam-adjustable slide rollers and PET roller spacers. End seal and bonnet blade guides are PET.
