TSG Gates Handling Industrial Sand

Published
Client:
Sand processor – Texas, USA
Quantity:
Size:
10 in. (254 mm) Weight: 77 lbs. (35 kg)
Application:
Source a process gate that addresses wear from the material handled and can also be mounted in a unique orientation.

Features:

  • Blade & inlet liners constructed from 400 BHN abrasion-resistant steel.
  • Bonnet seals were modified to handle fine materials.
  • Custom end seal & retainer to replace the TSG Gate’s standard displacement pocket.

Results:

Due to the mounting angle of the gates, several TSG Gates had their standard displacement pocket replaced with a larger end seal and retainer. Otherwise, materials could have collected in the gate’s displacement pocket and created potential for material leakage.

The five Maintenance Gates were installed directly above five TSG Gates. These Vortex Maintenance Gates are designed to be open 99 percent of the time. The gates will be closed in the case of an upset condition, or when equipment maintenance is required downstream. Maintenance Gates are beneficial in that they allow silos to be isolated without having to empty their materials.
