Our laser department features four Amada’s and one high-def plasma that work consistently to provide our customers with optimum precision cutting with tight tolerances and the ability to repeat exact patterns. Our estimators continually analyze material prices to purchase sheet metal material at the best prices keeping costs for our customers as low as possible. Our lasers perform precision cutting on a variety of metals that include: Cold Roll – Mild Steel – P&O – Galvanized – Galvaneal – Stainless and Aluminum in gauges 22 through 3/4” mild steel, 3/8” stainless and 5/16” aluminum.
Standard 60” X 120” sheet metal beds on three of the metal fabrication shop lasers keep production rolling smoothly. Additionally, one laser can accommodate 80” X 160” sheets of metal for our farming and industrial manufacturers of large equipment such as lawn mower decks.
Vortex Custom Fabrication is a full production metal fab shop with a variety of welding options for customers. Our highly skilled welders provide robotic, MIG and TIG welding. We pride ourselves on offering quality work with a quick turnaround, meeting your on-time delivery needs.
Robotic welding completely automates the welding process. The robot performs the welding and handling of parts. This is a good choice for customers requiring precision, increasing accuracy and repeatability. Your Kasa Fab representative will help determine if your component requires the use of our robotic welder.
MIG (metal inert gas) welding is used when your components require long welds without starts and stops. MIG welds require minimal post-weld cleanup.
TIG (tungsten inert gas) welding is used for high-precision welds with no slag or spatter. TIG offers versatility
Vortex’s complete metal fabrication shop includes powder coating and wet paint. Our sales representatives and metal manufacturing experts will recommend which paint application process is best for your parts.
Determining the best paint option for your manufactured parts relies heavily on how your parts will be used:
Will your item be inside or outside?
Does your item need to be corrosion-resistant?
Do you want a specific color?
Our paint process begins with the preparation of your part, removing rust, grease, oil, laser scale and welding slag using:
Chemical process includes a six-stage wash process
Mechanical processes include manual sanding, vibratory or outsourced shot blast
To ensure a quality coating, your part is inspected before entering the paint booth and again after the paint process to ensure quality and durability.
Within our metal fabricating shop, forming parts is a large part of our complete assembly work. We have a variety of press brakes to ensure we meet our customer’s expectations. Our metal shop press brakes have CNC to ensure repeatability and accuracy of your components.
The variety of press brake options we have on our metal fabrication floor give us the capability to work with both long and thick metal components. From hoppers to large metal enclosures, our metal fabrication forming capabilities keep us at the top of the #1 suppliers list.
Kasa Fab’s Quality Control department utilizes the use of a Virtek LaserQC inspection system to identify quality issues quickly. The system verifies calibration before each scan to ensure repeatable accuracy. Using this system, our staff can quickly and accurately perform scans and/or produce first article inspection on any flat during the initial phases of manufacturing.
As a part is scanned, the outline of the part appears on the computer screen in real time. Taking only seconds, the part can be compared to the corresponding CAD file, highlighting variances. This equipment can also be used to scan an existing part and reverse engineer it, producing a quality CAD drawing.
As part of Kasa Fab’s QC department, this system helps us increase throughput in our fabrication shop and achieve optimal accuracy within 0.05mm (0.002 inches).
Housed within the layout department of our custom metal fabrication shop are additional capabilities including shear, saw, roll, punch and pem setter machines. Our staff will help you determine the most cost-effective method of producing your manufactured parts. Our fabrication shop can also assemble and deliver your items if required.
The shearing process is perfect for making straight-line cuts on flat metal.
Accushear 12’ X 3/8” steel with CNC backstop
Our saw cutting services provide quality, precise cuts offering compound angles, bundled cutting and hydraulic clamping.
